..is French for me and Finnish for "hiya". The first language I don't speak much at all, the latter fluently.
So yes, hello, a non-Brit here who was incidentally more or less brought up on British comedy as we get a lot of that on TV over here. My favourite shows growing up were 'Allo 'Allo! and Men Behaving Badly, as I got older I began liking things such as Smack the Pony, The Fast Show, Black Books, Coupling, Press Gang, Green Wing, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Peep Show and most recently, The IT Crowd.
I also own The Office on DVD but the more time goes by, the more I think Ricky Gervais is kind of a douche. I still think Tim and Dawn is one of the best love stories on television, ever, though.
There aren't a lot of things I've seen but severely disliked - save a few old school Britcoms that feel like "you had to be there", ie. they just don't work for a non-British 20-something in this day and age - but as an example of what I don't like, my lovely dad made the mistake of buying Little Britain Series 1 on DVD for my birthday, and the DVD remains in its plastic see-through wrapper, sitting on top of some shelf. Sigh. I don't have the heart to sell it, so I may have to watch it one of these days, even though based on what I've seen on TV, I won't be into it at all.
I'm female, by the way, in case you care about that sort of thing (gender-schmender).
