I really don't care for Fantasy novels any more. I have friends who bug me all the time to read the latest Fantasy book but I never read them.
You've read a few you've got the gist of what every fantasy book is.
I've been addicted to Classic distopian fiction and evolution science books for the last few years.

No I have not....but I am intrigued! Can you give me a specific book recommendation?
Death of Grass (some really interesting ideas about how armagedon could be managed) and The Tripods (way creepier and more Freudian than you might think).
Also John Wyndham.

I should point out I'm a dystopia nut with perhaps the worlds most depressing collection of books and DVDs.
Infact the only DVDs I own are dystopian.
You've probably read all my real all the classics which are my real favorites (like Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451). But I LOVED "I am Legend"!!! One of the best books I ever read. The movie was so far away from the book I honestly had a two day headache from the anger I had watching the movie.
If you want to read a bit funnier Distopian fiction I would recommend Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut.
My favorite Sci Fi to this day are the I am Robot collection by Isaac Asimov. Hard sci-fi is sooooo rewarding when you finish reading it.
I loved Player Piano, like 1984 written by Disney.
I suspect I'm more post appocalyptic than distopian, but Death of Grass is ace.

Comic wise "Y the Last Man" is amazing! One of the best comics ever written.
As for movies: City of the lost Children is one of my favorite movies ever!
But I'll be sure to check out those recommendations thanks.
Y the Lastman was one of very few comics I bought issue by issue as oposed to novel by novel.
Shit that was ace and such a sad, sad ending.

Actually I held off reading the last few issues because I wanted to buy the compilation as one set and be just as excited reading the series over wondering what would happen at the end. IT'S COMING OUT SOON!
I stopped reading after the whole 'father' thing happens. That's were I left off.
I can't wait! So tempting to break my own personal oath.

I did the Jackson interactive books which is even more shameful.
Agree with LOTR. Sil is tedium. I had a friend who began learning Elvish. Needless to say he was too normal for my liking but I loved thrusting my finger at the Elvish poetry within LOTR and asking he read it aloud. Mainly because it made me laugh. If you've heard bad Elvish in a Welsh accent, you'll know what I mean.
