Aaron if there's more than one I'm buying them just to sell on so you've got a deal. (Minus the 10% of course, I wouldn't charge!!)

However I'm expecting big queues so the most I'm likely to get is a JML potato peeler and some cheap pick 'n' mix.

Woo hoo! :D

I just tried to go on their website, but it is down. It's happening already Teary

Same here. Boo and hiss.

What a shame. Whenever I was in London I used to go there for candy. Esp. those gummy Milk Bottles. They were gummy candies that tasted like milkshakes. Never got to try the spiced chocolate orange. Ah, well. Poor old Woolies.

Somebody save me a bag of jelly babies?

I always thought you were a bloke...

Very sad if Woolies do go, although it's been struggling for a long time. And I guess it's closure will just be one more step on the slow march to total supermarket domination.

Well I don't work for Woolies, but since you put that so charmingly 50 squids?

n.b. back from the sales, good to see Woolies are tightfisted wankers to the end.

10% off a PS3, even the pick and mix was 10% off only!

Booo. Waste of time. All TVs have mysteriously dissappeared (probably for staff) and nothing was 50% off. There were about 100 people waiting in a queue to get in and they all made a frenzied beeline for the electrical dept. Some were even running. Then they found out nothing's changed, electricals are still only 10% off. Which at Woolies prices isn't cheap anyway.

On the posters outside it says "Up To 50% Off". Admitedly the "Up To" is written in a tiny font, but it's there.

The one in Archway had a most haunted feeling, as sotto voce voices whispered.

"Ee only 10% off," "Well that's Christmas ruined," and my favorite.

"To think I took the kids to school for this,"

It was wortth going to see her distress.
