I have to repeat it to myself over and over until I get home. Either that or write it on the back of my hand in eyeliner.
I'm kind of cavalier in that way...
But seriously, I treat the wording in the same way as the idea. If I don't remember it (as I do, say, with lines in movies... and books that I have read) then I don't worry about it. If it's strong enough, it'll come back to me. Also, it's very rare for me to get the actual words in my head before I've sat down at my laptop anyway. Up to that point it's mainly ideas.
This is probably why my output is relatively small (gad you can hear the jokes from a mile off!). It takes me absolutely ages to write anything... but I'm OK with that. I self-edit as I'm writing too... rather than write a draft, edit and then re-draft and so on.
It'd be interesting to hear what methods other people employ...
By the way... would it be easier to carry a pen?
