No, if I need to chat I take the S class and have someone else dive while I sit in the back.

Wow. I wouldn't know whether to get seasick or carsick. :)

Ah, I think we've found the next great BSG character to rank alongside Jolanta, Frostyboy, Jake Howe and Kent Pete. :D

No one... and I mean No One ranks alongside Jake Howe, he is in a league of his own (or a world of his own, I was never quite sure.)

Unlikey.....I may get jacked for my 911 or mugged for my IWC but I don't hang out in shitty parts of town or have to mingle with the poor in scummy pubs...so my odds are good.

IWC?

The shitty parts of town and the scummy pubs are a lifestyle choice, not down to wealth.

It's a 911... think I stayed off the market till 35??????

But it's a 911.

IWC is my timepiece.

Lifestyle choice only gets you so far....you can't buy into a nice area or eat at fine restaurants with "choices"

But you can choose not to go to shit ones, no matter your wealth.

Put it all in a sitcom. It sounds like gold...

It was in a sitcom. Perfect World.

Perception...poor people think they're at Claridges if the beers cold.

It's like all the people saying the Mathews woman was "just like us, who'd have thought she kidnap her kid"......well, she may have been just like you but thats becuase you're all scummy too.

I've not heard anyone say she was just like them.

You must be spending time with the wrong class of people...

Aren't you working under the misapprehension that only "poor scummy" people get murdered? Rich succesful "quality people" get murdered too. Happens all the time.

Fair point perhaps. But it's still a choice to an extent. I choose not to go to any kind of pub, no matter how up- or down-market I perceive it to be. Therefore I have an edge over those who do. No matter which establishment(s) they frequent.

I'm woking on the basis that more poor people get murdered than rich.

And more black people than white, if the news is anything to go by.

What is it about Ricky Gervais that splits opinion so much? Whenever Gervais' name is mentioned on these forums, 3 or more pages of fierce debate is guaranteed to follow. (It happens every time - there's about ten dedicated threads of Gervais arguments now!)

For the record, whilst Aaron may not be a fan of The Office, I'm on the other side of the argument. I think it will be seen as a classic in years to come, and rightly so.

Anyway let's end this Gervais debate now. Anyone that is successful in the industry can be labelled 'funny' - the reason being, they must be making enough people laugh to justify their wages. For example, I don't find Jim Davidson remotely funny - but he is funny. Why? Because people are happily buying his DVDs still! (If that's you, please stop!)

Anyway, back to the comedy awards...

Kevin Bishop's naughty behaviour last night has certainly done his profile no harm. News aggregator services are reporting about 200 articles since Saturday mentioning him name, not bad considering he didn't win (compare that to No Heroics the other nominated comedy which didn't win... it only managed 14 mentions in comparison).

Also, in case you hadn't seen, you can view a copy of the BCA programme, with interviews and stuff, here: http://bca.digitaleditions.co.uk/britishcomedy2008/

I can't comment on news aggregator services, but I don't really think it registered much in the press. The most mentioned bit seemed to be Russell Brand dedicating his win to Jonathon Ross. And already the whole ceremony seems to have been forgotten.
