Bob Spiers, director of Dad's Army, Fawlty Towers, Ab Fab etc, has died aged 63.

That CV, and the news item's title highlights Absolutely Fabulous. What a f**king depressing end to a career.

He seems quite young to have been the director of shows that old.

Yes, but she looks sombre and respectful. She'd be welcome at my funeral dressed like that.

Oh, dear. A TRAGIC loss. That man directed some of the very best British TV shows - including Press Gang, one of my personal favourites (Not a sitcom, I know, but still most relevant).

RIP. :(
