Prisoner 2008

NUMBER6 IN HIS PRISONER SUIT AND BADGE IS SPEAKING TO NUMBER2.

SCENE1

NUMBER6

You'll get no information from me. No matter how many non violent, whimsical mind games you play on me.

SCENE2

NUMBER6 IS AND BEING WATER BOARDED WHILST ABBA IS PLAYED AT FULL VOLUME AND LINDIE ENGLAND LAUGHS AT HIS COCK.

NUMBER2 PULLS THE GAG OUT.

NUMBER6

Alright it was because the paper in the bogs was rough and the tea trolley only had rich teas.

NUMBER2
Thank f**k for George Bush.

VO

Coming soon the Prisoner 2008 from Fox.

Eh?

Did you watch the original prisoner?

The idea for me being in a new version they'd go all Abu Gahrib on 6s arse.

Thought it was pretty good - though it would have been better right on the heels of the incidents you refer to.... topical humour has a short shelf life, as you know.

I really like the Prisoner as a theme, as evidenced by my attempt:

(sorry for the self promotion.. couldn't resist).

I watched the prisoner but not sure of the other references possibly, I suspect, just me.

I kind of get what you're aiming at but it's a bit all over the place. I think the problem is that not everyone is familiar with the conceit of The Prisoner - that the bad guys are trying to find out why he resigned. Not knowing that, there's no joke. And the last line seems tacked on, as though you forgot to set up the joke earlier and had to cram it in at the end.

How about Number 6 is George Bush. Surely there's some mileage in that?

This was one of my experiments in extreme underwriting.

The idea being it's only funny, if you get the multiple references and offering no explanation.

I suppose the only place it would work would be on Scifi or in SFX.

Hmm I guess I'll have to start thinking of stuff to put back in.

The last line was an attempt to poke fun at how Fox ran 24. A show that was recently sighted in a congressional investigation, into inspiring US lawyers to approve the use of torture in black site prisons.
