I have the DVD, and it is very interesting to see how Barker plays it when Fletcher gets angry...
Watch those scenes, and then imagine that sort of quality of acting and reality in something like My Family.

Absolutely. The best sitcoms of yesteryear used quality actors. Stand up comedians are not actors.
