First off, I do work hard so don't need you to tell me to "get my head down and work". Second of all, because I haven't had any success up to now I was just interested to know whether other people have received calls from producers or e-mails, suggesting a meeting. I see nothing wrong in finding out what other people's experiences are/were. I think it's completely up to me what I post and if you don't like it you don't have to respond to it. Why not just ignore my post and f**k off and do your own writing, why don't you get your head down and work?!

Ooooh. Some-one's tired!

What I don't get is that you ask a simple straight forward qustion, yet there's always one person (in this case Pete) who has to respond and be a bit of a twat about it. I guess we are posting in quite a competative environment here where some people feel the need to be complete dickheads (in this case, Pete).

Really? I thought you "work part time to make time for writing"? I manage to run a business and write.....but then i guess i don't need to ask a forum what font size would be best, i can see why you need the extra hours.

What are you going to do with the advice you now have on phone V email...stand by the most popular appliance to save time answering the phone/reading the email? Or where you just asking out of interest? in which case...what next? "who has been contacted by producers who's name starts with a letter between D and R"

Whether you run and business and make time for writing is completely up to you, it must take a lot of time doing both and I have respect for that, but don't have any respect for the poor attitude that you bring. Whether it's your lack of success in both business and writing, I don't know, but something seems to be eating you up. If somebody posts something on this site that I think is stupid, I stay away (there have been a lot of posts that I have stayed away from because of this), but each person has a right to post whatever they want.

I don't see my question as being a "dumb ass question" at all, it was simply just to find out whether people were contacted by phone or e-mail, as I remember someone saying on here once that they sent a script to a producer and got a call the very next day, I just wanted to find out what other people's experiences were, as for "what's next?", nothing really, but I just have a better idea of what other people have experienced with producers who have shown an interest in their scripts.

I suppose when you come on to a site like this you're always going to get people who are quite bitter or angry, but for the most part people have seemed quite decent and eager to help in many of my posts. There's nothing wrong with asking questions or asking for advice, not sure what you're problem is with me doing so.

I think Mike is young rather than stupid, and even if he does ask something that you consider 'dumb ass', so what? What does it actually matter? Just move along and get on with something else.

Yeah, it makes sense that they'd email. Seems the most convenient and thrifty way to make contact.

It really doesn't matter how they contact you. At first it will likely be email, but later they'll want to talk on the phone to see what you're like.

I had to ring a producer on his mobile in the evening once and I could have sworn he making his tea or something as we spoke.

Surely one's agent deals with this kind of thing?

Maybe my mistake was wording the title of this thread wrong, maybe it should have been more along the lines of asking for people's experiences with producers after sending them scripts, as this thread really seems to have pissed you off in some way. I'm obviously not using this forum for a substitute mummy, so a pretty pointless comment there. There's nothing wrong with needing help, no matter how stupid you think the question is.
