Can't argue with that! Is it Howard on the triangle and Jason on the coconuts?

I'll triangle your coconuts in a minute.

They do actually play instruments. Interesting.

Hello.
Take That DO play instruments.
So take them out of your list immediately.
kthanks.

But yes, let's kill Westlife and Boyzone please! And all the other pop groups that neither write anything, play anything, or even sing well.
I'm with you on that.

I back Zooo and loud support for Take That. The ONLY band to write their own stuff and in many ways NOT a boyband at all, but a project build round Gary Barlow with a few dancers and backing singers.

Artic Monkeys are terrible, as are most current UK bands like Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Hard Fi etc.

Hate the Rolling Stones, it's tuneless attitude and nothing else.

And despise all reggae.

Great rhythms, great rock sound, interesting lyrics - what else do you want? They are f**king brilliant and some of their stuff is amongst my favourite songs/albums of all time. If you like good rock listen to Low Life.

And f**k all to do with drugs as I've always been drug free and usually alcohol free when I've heard them.

And steal the best bits of other records and just rant over them like demented twats.

When good, New Order were VERY good. Fantastic sound and some great synth riffs. Lyrically though, Sumner stunk the place out and he can't sing for toffee. But a lot of their stuff is truly seminal.

No! I won't hear it. You obviously hate music that has soul and rhythm. You can't justify that The Stones are 'tuneless' unless you are tone deaf.

The reggae comment was a bit of an eye-popper as well.

Maybe TT did play their instruments. That doesn't stop it being crap.

And Hard Fi, Snow Patrol etc are good. It's just obviously beyond your comprehension - especially if you like TT.

I'll leave Dolly to argue for the Stones.

Not really, I just hate dull rock 'n' roll lead with a bad vocalist.

Fair enough. I'm not actually a fan, BUT I defend them as a good pop band.

Hard Fi are a terribly bland band who's debut album was f**king awful. Snow Patrol are just dull plodders.

Coldplay are the biggest offenders though.

Can't stand it. Ska too.

I loved Hard Fi's first album. Maybe that proves your point!

I am not keen on a lot of what passes for reggae nowadays, but the spiritual rhythms of the Congos or the Abyssinians or the great Bob Marley are amongst the most soulful in world music.

But then I am lost as to how Sympathy for the Devil, Get Off My Cloud or Paint It Black could be called "dull rock 'n' roll".

What do you think of the White Stripes, Chapman?
