Boooooooooooooooooooring.
Everybody loves the record ... you hate it Page 3
Anything by The Streets (although, I've only heard his singles). Honestly, when he first came out, I thought it was a joke. He may have half-decent lyrics, but his "rapping" is terrible. He sounds like he's "rapping" for the deaf, performing his songs as clearly and as slowly as possible, so he can be lip-read.
Most of Dire Straits stuff except Money for Nothing. The clues in the name really.

I think he's great.
If I had heard anything by the above three bands, I'm sure I would agree.

Yep - agree there.
Plus I went to a party last year - yes it was an old person's party and they wereplaying Lionel Ritchie and Phil Collins. I just wanted to put the Killers on.
Quote: Aaron @ November 27 2008, 10:40 PM GMTMy instinctive reaction.
Oh, and all but about half a dozen Beatles tracks.
Aaron! What are you doing in this thread? You don't know anything about music!!!
Silly billy!
When I saw the thread title I thought of one song and then:
Quote: roscoff @ November 27 2008, 10:12 PM GMTI'll start. Bohemian Rhapsody. Pretentious shite. If this is the only post on this I don't care. It's just good to get it off my chest. Like phlegm.
SNAP!
Later I got thinking a bit more and:
Quote: roscoff @ November 27 2008, 10:37 PM GMTJennifer Rush (I think) The Power of Love. My dad's fave. I can't stand it. And she's got too many teeth.
SNAP!
And then:

Are we actually the same person, Roscoff? Maybe not, after all, you said:
[quote name="roscoff" post="316926" date="November 27 2008, 11:14 PM GMT"] except Money for Nothing.
The bad news, I'm afraid, is that because I hate all these, they no longer qualify for the thread "everybody else loves the record". Because I don't. Sorry.
I agree with zooo on New Order. I never understood the appeal.
The appeal is dependant on the appropriate chemical enhancement, so I understand.
Come the glorious day, all the pop 'choirs' (how can they be a band when they don't have any instruments?) like Westlife, Take that, Sugababes, Girls Aloud etc will be up against the wall. Also all these female "R&B" singers who just go up and down the scale and can't sing at all, but try to make it sound a bit sexy.
Hello.
Take That DO play instruments.
So take them out of your list immediately.
kthanks.
But yes, let's kill Westlife and Boyzone please! And all the other pop groups that neither write anything, play anything, or even sing well.
I'm with you on that.

I'll second that, but I've always hated it and everything The Eagles have ever done. Yuk.
Dark Side of the Moon is another that everyone raves about that I can't stand. I only like Syd Barett Floyd.
Also all those crap rappers who haven't got anything to say, but just stick words in their songs that they've heard in others, i.e. bling, bitch etc. I don't mind a bit of rap, but it's really worn out now.

I borrowed it from a friend and listened to it and then gave it back. That was it. Not impressed.

Great rhythms, great rock sound, interesting lyrics - what else do you want? They are f**king brilliant and some of their stuff is amongst my favourite songs/albums of all time. If you like good rock listen to Low Life.

And f**k all to do with drugs as I've always been drug free and usually alcohol free when I've heard them.

And steal the best bits of other records and just rant over them like demented twats.
