3 mobile - boring question

hello,

I've just had a young man on the phone offering me a great deal with 3 mobile.

1100 mins, 100 texts and unlimited interweb for £30 a month on an 18month contract.

Does anyone on here use the 3 network.

And if so are you happy with it?

Thanks for any info.

johnx

I heard they were shit, but I'm not on their network.

The only dealings I have had with 3 was one time when I annoyed one of their cold-callers so much that they hung up on me.

Err, you're best off getting a 30 day rolling contract - easier to change when you feel like it.

Mine's £15 a month with 1000 texts and 150 mins free - with Vodafone.

I have a brick.

Well, all I know is that they're based in Maidenhead. Which is too close to Slough for my liking.

I can ask my Dad what their network is like later, if you're that interested, jdubya?

Please Aaron, thanks

Paul are you on 3?

oh yeah

Hehe. :)

Warbs I had the biggest nightmare EVER with 3 - this Indian sales guy phoned up and said if I took their 18 month contract out I'd get the handset plus £600 worth of holiday vouchers to spend at Thomas Cook. We were thinking of going on holiday and I needed a new phone so I accepted. Phone arrived next day - the wrong one, a much shittier model than they'd sold over the phone, and no holiday vouchers. I phoned customer services and they said there were no such vouchers available and never had been.

I told them what the Indian guy had said and they basically called me a liar, saying their operatives would never say that because the holiday voucher deal had ever existed. Anyway, I refused to pay, cancelled the direct debit and sent them the phone back. For the next YEAR the bastards hassled me, threatened me with court action, got debt collection agencies on my arse until I finally took legal advice who told me that by law these phone calls have to be recorded, and you can request a copy of the phone call as evidence.

So I called 3's Head Office and told them exactly what had happened, and that they should get the phone call and listen to it, to see I was telling the truth. A month later I got a written apology saying the department had been disciplined and my contract was now cancelled.

A month later another debt collection agency contacted me, this time wanting something like 500 quid for the entire 18 month contract that I had "broken". I told them to f**k off and a week later a burly bloke arrived on my doorstep, talking about bailiff action. I showed him the letter from 3 stating my contract was anulled and he duly buggered off, but didn't seem that happy about it.

All was quiet for a while until I got another letter from 3 saying I owed them 500 quid, and threatening court action. I called their Head Office number but it was changed, so I called Customer Services (Indian) who told me they had no record of the contract being annulled and that I must pay up or face prosecution. I did nothing, and six months later...get this...they sent me another phone.

So I sent it back. That was two weeks ago. The plot thickens...

Seriously mate, stay away from 3. The guy you were talking to might sound nice but believe me their actual customer services are a f**king joke.

:| Christ on ice.

Foookin ell Lee. Cheers I really appreciate that.

I am on pay as you go. It's actually not worth me having a contract.

I'm with O2.

I'm on Tesco pay as yuo go. If you top up 15 quid a month you get 150 minutes free and they roll over unused minutes to the next month. Does me grand.
