I'm really surprised this hasn't been picked up by the media - Mitchell and Webb have written a live audience sitcom about two blokes trying to setup a business in their garden shed. It's only a pilot, but obviously with them on board it stands a good chance of going somewhere...
Interesting. The BBC seems to have been getting it's fingers burnt with a lot of these audience-sitcoms, so let's hope this one bucks the trend. That said, are Mitchell and Webb just too overextended nowadays?

Yes. IMO. But not so much that they're beyond hope/help. This show could be pretty good. I'd consider applying for tickets, only I think I'm already busy on that date.
I love Mitchell and Webb for the same reason I dislike Peter Kay. Mitchell and Webb have had success with a radio series, two different sketch shows, a sitcom and a movie but they are STILL pushing new content ideas (remember Daydream Believers). They're not resting on their laurels, and could easily spend the rest of their days releasing boxset after boxset of the same stuff.
I say more power to them, and I'm excited about the possible new show!
Very cool news! Hopefully it's good enough to be given at least a series so we see it on TV. Considering M&W have so far only written sketch shows so far (although some of the sketches had continuity like the snooker commentators), will be interesting how they write the same characters and actual storylines.
The description of the pilot sounds very them in a way ("blogger's contempt for the rest of humankind" made me chuckle) so yeah, hopefully this will come to something.
I get a bit edgy when Mitchell & Webb write their own stuff, they have had some good characters and moments with That Mitchell & Webb Sound/Look/Situation, but on the whole they absolutely shine when backed by Bain & Armstrong. Although saying that, Magicians wasn't great.

Oh I had no idea about Daydream Believers, though I think I've heard the title mentioned somewhere in relation to M&W, now that I think about it. Didn't watch the YouTube clip yet, but judging by the comments over there, it doesn't seem like a winner.
I loved Colin and Ray! One of the best bits about series two of TMWL, though I'm not sure how consistent the characterizations for them stayed throughout the little bits.

I agree. IMO their best stuff has tended to be written by others.
