Well I liked the idea of Paterson Joseph being the next Doctor as soon as I heard it, and still do. I hope it is him.
I would imagine they'll only announce who the new doctor is on the eve of filming the next series with him in it.
Well, those 'in the know' etc are saying it's him, definitely. But then they would. I remember thinking he was a wooden actor when I saw him in season 1.
I'm still not ruling out Catherine Tate. Heh heh...
I liked Tom Baker, I thought he was an ace Doctor Who but then I grew out of it.

Grew out of it? I sort of take that kind of opinion as an insult. Stopped liking it, sure, but grew out of it suggests those who still like it are in some way idiots.

I am a massive fan, but le's face it, series four pretty much was just bodged together with pennies and sticky tape. I do however partically love Blink. It's probably the most intresting script they've had thus far. I disagree about Ecclestone though, I think he was a very good, allbeit different Doctor.

Paterson Joseph would be brilliant. Especially if he uses his Johnson voice.

Series 4 was great imo. I didn't like the Sontaran 2-Parter that much though. Also, watching the repeats of Series 3, it reminds me how good Martha was as a companion. It's just the last 2 episodes where The Doctor ages, gets turned into a tiny Gollum like creature, then rises into the air like Jesus which annoys me.
