Bride of Re-Animator Poem

Here is a poem I wrote inspired by that scene from BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR. I hope you won't think it's doggerel.

People screamed at the dog with the human hand

People screamed, but Herbert, I understand

It's nice to have a dog about, that can open the door and let himself out

That can do the simple chores you ask, and when told to shake hands excels at the task

He can catch a frisbee like no other dog can

That's why dogs are called the best friend of man

And especially a dog with a human hand

There are other poems, but we'll let sleeping, (or dead), dogs lie. In all fairness, I have to admire a dog with a strong handshake. It shows integrity and strength of character. One could confidently buy a used car from a dog like that. Of course, shortly after the sale it would try to savage you with it's teeth, while punching you with it's fist, but really, that's to be expected. Whenever you buy a used car you're always taking a risk.

Well that's quite jolly but I am admittedly shit at poems.

Why not post it on one of the fansites for that estimable film.

I'm pleased you liked it. I guess it's a bit obscure, but I write whatever makes me giggle. I did give it to Jeffrey Combs (Herbert West). He seemed to enjoy it, and said he was going to pass it on to Mr. Yuzna. Did he? I will never know, I suppose.
