I wonder how many remember The Grove Family which started in the mid 1950s. We didn't have a TV until 1960 but my aunt lived next door and I used to go in there and watch it.
Tame by today's standards but just a series about a typical 1950s family and the problems and fun they had. I connect with this era and to me it beats any modern sitcom or soap - but that's me.
The Queen Mother is said to have loved it.
Some of the actors and actresses will have passed on I imagine but Christopher Beeny still is active in the entertainment world and is touring I think in the play There's No Place Like A Home with 'Allo 'Allo! star Gorden Kaye.
