Well they are all a bit slaggy in California.
Are you Offended? Page 2
It's like our Newcastle...
I don't find it offensive but I find it very damaging. Does that make sense?

No it makes no sense to me on the damaging part.
I find it speaks the truth. If there was no religion people would start facing up to their lives instead of preparing to die.

I think if I was an very impressionable person, I could view that two ways.
One, I could read it as an offensive comment against the muslim faith or faith in general which could add fuel to any negeative views I have about western culture. A personal attack onmy faith and a red flag to any hatred.
Two, it could impile to me that religion is an evil thing and while yes, their is a lot of coruption in various churches and organised religions have been used as an excuse many times to attack others, it's important to remember that this only appiles to a small percentage of people who follow a faith. When we see the nutters on the news we quickly forget about the good work others do.
I am not saying that's how I view it at all but I can see HOW it could be viewed. Does that make more sense?

I personally do not believe in organised religion at all. I'm an agnostic. But at the same time, I respect that faith plays an important part in peoples lives and can give those who are suffering great hope. Usually it's not actually the religion itself but the people who rewrite it and twist it to meet their own cruel and selfish needs.

Not offensive. Just annoying.

This is a whole can of worms that's been opened many times before, but the argument never, ever reaches a satisfactory conclusion.
I'm not quite sure what to believe. I think I believe in a higher power, or "being" if you want to call it that, but I certainly don't buy into Christianity or for that matter any other religion. So I suppose that makes me an agnostic too.
One thing I read though - it was quite interesting, a comment by an army medic from the trenches of the first world war - was that atheists always end up crying out to God just like everyone else when they're dying.

Well, you've got nothing to lose then; you might as well cover your back just in case.

I find this strangely comforting and satisfying.
