Not dudes: Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Uma Thurman

I was going to mention Grace too - and Sophia Loren and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Blokes? Um - not in a gay way (honestly) James Nesbitt.

Football is just a game. I'd be as impressed by someone being good at croquet or ten pin bowling as I am by someone who's good at football.

I think GOOD acting is harder. And muuuuuuch more worthwhile.

But we shall just have to disagree! :D

I think he doth protest waaaaaay too much there!

Surprisingly, I agree.

The only reason I would go to see a film because a particular actor is in it, would be if that actor had a good track record of picking films to appear in - though even the most reliable has a few turkeys in their CV.

There is quite a long list of actors whose appearance in a film would put me off of going to see it - though even most of those have at least one decent film to their credit.

I really don't see why people get so excited about actors.

Or directors.

Or directors.

The director is more important to me; a lot of directors have a recognisable style or are attracted to a particular type of theme, which gives you an idea what to expect. It is like buying a novel by a favourite author.

Agreed. If I knew, for instance, it was a film directed by Chris Nolan, or Paul Thomas Anderson, I'm immediately going to be more interested than if it's by Peter Glugson. Mainly because I just made that name up though.

So it has nothing at all to do with the writers then.

Was it me that reminded you of him?
