Captain Pedantic 3

INT. CAR – DAY

DOUG AND JAMES DRIVE DOWN THE MOTORWAY, DOUG AT THE WHEEL.

JAMES:
There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about, Doug. It's about Jane.

DOUG:
What about her?

JAMES:
This isn't easy to say, but… we've been seeing each other.

DOUG:
What? How could you? Me and Jane only broke up a week ago!

THERE'S A FLARE OF TROPHY MUSIC AND A THUMP FROM ABOVE. CAPTAIN PEDANTIC POKES HIS HEAD THROUGH THE SUN ROOF.

CAPTAIN PEDANTIC:
Don't you mean "Jane and I broke up"?

DOUG:
That is what I mean! Thanks, Captain Pedantic!

CAPTAIN:
Don't mention it, pal!

HE TAKES OFF TO A VICTORY TUNE AND DOUG AND JAMES LAUGH GOOD NATUREDLY. THEN DOUG JERKS THE WHEEL, PLUNGING THE CAR INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

Hahahah. Nice one.

Thanks guys. I'll take a rest on this runner now. Cheers for reading.

i really like these, great idea :)

These should be animated! They're great.

I like how someone always dies at the end.

Fab, so you switched to word accuracy rather than word tranposition?

You may well be right there. Fancy helping a guy out?

I just thought "to hell with it!"

I love running jokes - of which this is. Where could Captain P turn up next...?

It would be great to do another sketch after say the first three where the people or couple are expecting him to appear and start to cringe. If the timing of the pause was right it would be fantastic.

'Fraid I've got too many things on my plate right now. However, should my cunning plan to wake up one morning as a hotshot independent producer ever come to fruition, I'll get back to you.

Rather enjoying these. A sketch that actually benefits from being a runner, rather than paying diminishing returns.

Like it! Reminds me of a pedantic sketch I wrote a while ago. Reckon it's an idea with good mileage in it.

(and yes, have helpfully put a link into my sketch ;) ) https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/8836#P243787

Yeh I like this one :)

Glad I kept with them now coz this is kinda dark :D:D dark in a good way though

I was reaching and I knew it. Loving your latest by the way, Mike. The 'Internet's gone down' one was all that and a bag of Nik Naks.
