The ultimate taboo? Page 15
Quote: sootyj @ November 19 2008, 3:39 PM GMTSounded like analisation, I think I was being ironic.
As opposed to Aaronic.
Or moronic? More or less the same thing, I expect some will say.
Quote: Timbo @ November 19 2008, 3:41 PM GMTWe really do need an 'applause' emoticon.
It would only confirm what i assume anyway
Quote: Aaron @ November 19 2008, 3:43 PM GMTI'm laughing at the wordplay.
Ah, I get it now.
You'd love these joke then;
Why is the ocean wet?
Because the seaweed.
Why did the boy keep his guitar in the fridge?
Because he wanted to play cool music.

It was that but with girls.
Quote: Griff @ November 19 2008, 3:41 PM GMTIt's just that you seemed determined to bring disaster upon yourself by quoting that joke as funny.
Am now intrigued as to what kind of disaster could come...
Quote: Aaron @ November 19 2008, 3:44 PM GMTI think most people, be they parents or not, have someone in their life who they'd kill or be killed for. I know I do.
No, it's different. Completely different. Just one of those things you've got to experience I suppose.
Some of the posters on BSG thinking you're a meanie.
This also made me smile.

Well, evidently I'm also laughing at the plight of the girl then.
Quote: Griff @ November 19 2008, 3:47 PM GMTThe disgrace of your peers on BSG of course. What worse disaster could you imagine.
Well I know that no one here likes me, and it's failed to bother me to date.
Quote: Aaron @ November 19 2008, 3:49 PM GMTWell, evidently I'm also laughing at the plight of the girl then.
Mmm...thought so.
Doesn't that worry you, if you really think about it?
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ November 19 2008, 3:47 PM GMTNo, it's different. Completely different. Just one of those things you've got to experience I suppose.
Perhaps, perhaps.
I'm still totally sure I'd be laughing though.
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ November 19 2008, 3:50 PM GMTDoesn't that worry you, if you really think about it?
No, quite the opposite in fact. I'm perfectly happy in my emotional detachment from my sense of humour. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I'm proud of it.
Quote: Griff @ November 19 2008, 3:46 PM GMTYou mean 'prudish'. Prurient is the opposite. I do wish you'd stick to a vocabulary you are familiar with.
I meant it as
obsessed by the sexual mores of others in a hypocrtical manner.

This also seems like a good thread to re-state that I find paedophilia totally acceptable and reasonable. Just not the act. And only then because the participant(s) don't understand.

?
Can we detach humour from our emotions? I can understand how some people (doctors for example) need to detach their logic from their emotions, but I can't see how humour can be detached. You're not really called Spock are you?
