Ach. Now I'm going to be obsessing over short gags on the train every day. Bum
A few weeks ago, everyone was obsessing over thinking up topical gags for News Revue.
Now it's think up gags for 118 lol

If you want to see what type of jokes they're using, google it.
You'll find forums posting the jokes they get texted.
Think Christmas cracker jokes!
I mean it... some of them are right groaners.
A lot of them have been doing the rounds since the Ark.
There's hope for us all yet.
How quick is Jack in getting back to you after sending him some one-liners?
He done send sootyj 2 books coz he wud foony.
Gosh darn it.
Writers almanac 2009 and The TV writers guide.
But no flowers.
If you look at the dates on the posts, I think a lot of those forums are discussing the jokes they used to send out before Jack Milner took over. If you send "old groaners" that have been out since the Ark, they will be rejected.
Oh, thank GOODNESS!
I think I'd have killed myself if I got rejected while those groaners (such as that old parrot-cetamol joke) made it through.
Regarding getting replies, I sent him an email asking a few questions last night and got a reply straight away.
Then I sent a batch of about 5 jokes from my portfolio about half hour later, no word as yet.
My guess is that the jokes are being sorted in order of arrival, and I'm guessing there's now a backlog.
Well he chooses the ones he sends then they choose the ones they want.
Ah, ok.
Anyone else struggling to actually send the email? I get an undeliverable message as soon as I hit send.
Nope which one are you sending to?
jack@jackmilner.com
The one I'm sending to and my ships reach port.
Thanks for clarifying anyway. Must be my system. Bugger.
Try googling him and seeing if you can find another e-mail?
Why am I helping the competition?
I've been writing these sort of gags for greetings cards for 13 years, and thus I have 13 years worth of rejected material sitting around in dusty piles, unloved and forlorn.
Not any more though. Mwah -hah - haaahh!
Still - 30 quid a pop? Bit stingey - The cards pay 125 and were paying 100 quid 10 years ago.
