A corker sir!

(I hate Jenkins as a name though.)

Jenkins is a rubbish name. I agree.

What about changing Jenkins to:

Dr Hugh
Dr Proctor
Dr H Jones
Dr G McKeith - lol
Kinsjen (because it's just weird)
Or give him a girls names (but keep him a bloke).

...I love word play. You got to film it in "blur-o-vision"(TM) of course, got a smoke machine that would be quite cool?

Result
Ian Competent
Fay k Qualification
Not A Doctor.
What
Where
Why
Ant Medics

What's wrong with Jenkins. Seems apt to me.

Nice hard consonants which as every knows are the funniest kind of consonants.

Exept Dr Results is so briliant I'm keeping it.

Give him a stupidly long name "Arthur Gerrald Theodore Rupert Smith"

A corker sir!

Is that a bottled alcohol pun or a compliment?

I haven't been that impressed with this time travel series, unfortunately. When he comments about sexual mores being the same as in the present, it was guessable that he was still in the present. The resolution then is that he's invented some kind of alcohol, presumably, though I have to say I don't know what Grenadine is.

I dunno - I probably hate it because I've used it so many times over the years in greeting card gags. All those old standards - Jenkins, Smithers, Ponsonby-Smythe etc etc. Just seems a bit cliched.

You will be horrified to learn that the first play wot I wrote was called 'By Jove Benkins!'

:)

And isn't the name itself - Jenkins a self aware and knowing part of the conceit of Mr Bussel's piece?

Can't please them all, Doggie. Cheers for the comment.

It seemed to go down well with most people, so I hope you didn't mind me mentioning a couple of things I wasn't sure about. I think you're a very good writer, David, but the time travel sketches didn't tickle me. I probably watch too much Dr Who and started taking them too seriously!
