The ultimate taboo? Page 3

I think when people stop laughing or being prepared to, then they start shouting, then people get hurt.

I've said it before, the purpose of a joke is not always mere crude entertainment.

Sometimes it's about saying what you could never say with a straight face, but still needs to be said.

Thanks! I think? I dunno :S

Yes! I was being nice. (trying to be anyway.) :)

I wasn't saying we can't make jokes about Baby P. I am saying, in answer to your question about "dead baby" jokes vs Baby P jokes, that jokes about an individual's suffering are more likely to be offensive than generalised jokes about suffering.

Ohhh okay. Fair enough then.

But I didn't consider there to be room for misinterpretation. :)

I'm lost. I really don't know what your point is.

Awwww, then thank you! <3
You are SO one of those nice people too :)

Oo, very deep. And philosophical. And that.

Does it not depend on the angle? 101 Uses for a Dead Toddler is probably not going to go down well, but "George Parr you are Head of Social Services at Haringay Council" has the potential to illuminate.

My point is that I don't know how you got that impression.

Now that is interesting.

If I was to write a sketch and I may yet do so it would be on the amount of computer time social workers have to do.

I think comparing that to a MMPORG.

TRANSLATION: People who don't laugh at Baby P jokes are Nazis innit.

It's true.

No Griff not at all, every one has the right to dislike jokes.

But there's an ocean of diference between disliking a joke and thinking it shouldn't be there at all.

By the way you win the prize for first spurious mentioning of Nazism in this thread.

But it's not a big deal, so let's forget about it. :)

No it wasn't, there have been plenty of moral panics through out history.

You haven't started critiquing what you think I'm thinking?

And I thought I was the one who loved 1984.

I liked Sex crime, but the Eurythmics have done better.

I just saw a clip from Futurama that made me laugh out loud.

Pompous or not tis what I truly believe.

It's a bit one dimensional for a philosophy wouldn't you say?

Perhaps I read 'everyone' as 'anyone'? I don't know. These things just sometimes happen. K?

I think social workers are a waste of space.
