Nuns

A NUN IS WALKING UP TOWARDS A NUNNERY WITH A REPORTER

NUN
Well this is the first Rehab clinic in the world I believe that has specifically been designed for nuns.

REPORTER IS TAKING NOTES

REPORTER
ok I see, so what sort of problems have these women overcome

NUN
Well often the women who come to us have suffered in the past with drugs or drink or gambling and a normal rehab clinic is just not the place for a Christian lady to be so we set up the clinic.

NUN OPENS THE MAIN DOORS AND LEADS THE REPORTER TO THE HALL

REPORTER
So the nuns who are here today have all succesfully completed their rehab course

NUN
Yes thats right, the first group to complete the three months so we have gathered them here today

CAMERA IS NOW ON THE DOORS OF THE MAIN HALL FROM THE INSIDE, THE DOOR SWINGS OPEN AND THE REPORTER IS BUSY TAKING NOTES STILL

NUN
Here they are, the 30 women who have succesfully, Kicked the habit!

REPORTER LOOKS UP AGHAST AND DROPS HIS PEN

CAMERA CUTS TO THE NUNS WHO ARE ALL STOOD IN THE HALL NAKED (HAVING LITERALLY KICKED THE HABIT)

If it's being a nun they are trying to get free from, it seems a bit odd having a nun running the place!

Apart from that, I don't think you need the (PAUSE) and it's 'aghast' not 'agasp'.

I like the rest of it though.

I kicked myself for not seeing the pun coming, so you got the groan, but as Marc says it does not quite make sense. Might it work better as a rehab clinic without the precise nature of the rehab being given away until shortly before the punchline?

On the whole though I am a bit doubtful of elaborate sketches relying on puns or/and reveals.

I agree with this 100%.

But anyway.

You could lose a lot of the build-up explanation by just starting off with the camera panning a across a rehab centre looking building with a sign out front reading "Rehab Clinic For Nuns".
