The first news about this year's British Comedy Awards is out. You might have guessed two of the names to have been mentioned.
Friday Night with Jonathan Ross is up for "Best comedy entertainment programme", alongside The Sunday Night Project and Harry Hill's TV Burp.
Russell Brand has been nominated for "Best standup performer", with Alan Carr and Michael McIntyre also nominated.
Any idea on who will present?
My guess would be someone like Angus Deayton.
I heard Harry Hill was considered the front runner to present the awards.

He's ok, but wouldn't suit it in my view.
I love the guy so I'm all for it.
They asked Stephen Fry but he turned it down.
Perhaps someone like Paul O'Grady would be good, but with his relationship with ITV, maybe not.
Al Murray might work.
I'd take any of the suggestions so far.

You never know. He could put the "British" into the British Comedy Awards. I suppose it is the matter of the "Comedy" (and possibly "Awards").

He's largely alright with ITV now. His show has been filmed again at The London Studios (ITV's main studios) rather than Television Centre for the last few series'. And as the BCAs aren't an ITV production, I'm not sure to what extent they would actually have influence over the choice?
Would Paul do the gig though?

I've always loved Paul.
Andrew Sachs should do it.
He is a national treasure.
By which I mean he had a bit part in a sitcom 30 years ago.
