Marc's Blog Page 3

Did Marc write the episode with Sylvester McCoy in it? That's the only time I've ever seen Doctors.

Cheers guys, and no the Lollipop man episode wasn't one of mine.

Zooo you are right, the cat was a star! Had to fight them on the budget to get him mind.

:)

:O
He should come way above crew and catering.

Can you watch your own stuff, Marc? I don't mean that in a nasty way, just that I know a lot of writers get self-conscious seeing their own work. Like actors who can't bear to see themselves on screen.

No I love it! :) As long as the actors are good.

:)

Hell yeah!

No I really loved watching Owen in todays ep, the guy playing Heston, it's like giving someone a battered guitar and then he plays it like Segovia!

He was great. (but still not as good as Sebastian the kitty.)

When you write an episode of a long running series, do they send you character profiles and stuff? Or do you just watch lots of episodes beforehand? How can you know how to write the characters otherwise?

Marc's a Doctorsholic. He probably knows more about the characters than he does about his own wife.

Yes they send you character profiles. I knew who the actor was and how they saw his character so it was great to riff with it man. And I have written for the show off and on for a while.

And er indoors knows little about the characters. Oh, I see what you mean.

:)

Of for a pint now to get some abuse from the locals.

Can I be bothered to watch it online?

I'm loving it so far! I miss being on GCSE study leave and being able to regularly watch it now. :$

12 minutes 40. Was NOT expecting that. :|

I wrote this as I watched the episode:

I love that first scene! Is that what your day to day life is like, Marc? Please say yes! Please note that I'm not hoping you have a dead wife.

What's the view on using animals? I know it was only a tiny role for the cat, but do producers moan about that?

How do you go about writing about all the medical bits? Do you have to go off and research or do you get given the basic facts?

OH MY GOD! THE TWIST!

OH MY GOD! NOW HE'S GONE AND COLLAPSED!

Ah! What a nice ending! And a funny line from Owen Brenman. Is he secretly in love with the doctor?

Nice episode, Marc. Well done. Did you break out that expensive whiskey to celebrate this one?
