Mildly intrigued by the outcome, but really quite sick of it.
US Election
I do care. I want Obama to win. Not because I love his politics significantly more than the other bloke but because if he does it will say positive things to the rest of the world about American peoples' values and that they acknowledge something needs to change. And stuff.
(Not that every single person who votes for the other bloke is against change and has the wrong values, you understand.)
(And I know that sounds patronising, but I don't know how else to word it) 
It will be nice when it's all over though. 
Excited.
Not in the same way as when it's my own country's election though. That's more passionate angst.
For this US election I'm just more excited for a change because like it or not Canada is ridiculously closely tied to the US.
And the past US government has none too friendly with us (They sent an ambassador...who dislikes Canada and had only visited Canada once before! And the guy before was just a playa-hata yo)
Either way McCain or Obama will be much better for Canada I'm sure...because it can't get much worse.
I'm for Obama, not because he's particularly good or anything.
It's just that McCaine can't seem to make clear distance between him and his desultroy predecessor.
I'd like to see some one with the balls to call for a "truth and reconciliation," comission on govermental abuse of human rights.
Jeez even Israel put Sharon on trial (then voted him in as PM).
Everyone seems to predict a big win for Obama. I don't know about any fiddling of past results, but it will tke a lot for the Republicans to win this one.
Obama seems to be a kind of American Blair, in my opinion.

I'm not taking it for granted that Obama's going to win.
I hate being disappointed. Like I was with Gore-gate.
And Blair wasn't all bad, at least in the early years.
I think that after Bush's long run, and the various unfortunate & unpopular events of the last few years, people are wanting a big change, and how better to get that than vote for Obama.
I knew Aaron was an intelligent chap. I remember on one thread talking about politics, he agreed with many of the ideas I put forward for improving Britain.
n.b. I found it way easier to do anti Barrack sketch, rather than a pro one.
Maybe on a deeper level I don't think he's all that.
Frankly Moses couldn't win for the current Republican party.
I'd be surprised if this time tomorrow, McCain hasn't had his chips.

I guess I was too young to care about American politics back then. I didn't think they effected Canada and thus assumed they were none of my business.
I remember thinking "what's the big deal, all politicians are the same".
Boy was I wrong and ignorant. I'd love to go back in time and kick my own ass....and perhaps tell myself the winning lotto numbers of the future...and tell myself not to screw around so much in College.....oh yea and not to run in the dark while in a lake intoxicated so my front tooth would still be alive.

Oh dear, I shall have to retire at 666 or something. Funny how the posts mount up so quickly.
I watched "The Choice 2008" on C4 the other night, and McCain came across as a bumbling maverick who somehow got where he is because there was no-one much better. Obama, on the other hand, seemed to have a game plan to get where he is, from the start, doing what had to be done to get there, a la Blair. If he does win with a big landslide, and doesn't live up to his promises, there is going to be a lot of anger in a few years' time.

I would have been 20. I think we are close in the same age but distant in maturity levels during our 20s.
