The people in our Philadelphia office sent a photo of their snow-covered cars this afternoon. Screw that.
One thing that's always confused me about America, is the way a city like New York always seems to get thick snow, every winter, even though it's as far South as Spain. Meanwhile, Britain is much further North, but we hardly ever get thick snow.
We have the gulf stream thingy keeping us - and particularly Cornwall - warm. Much of the rest of the country is also relatively sheltered by the landmass of europe.

A city like New York gets the best of both worlds, as it's Summers are often ridiculously hot. I remember a few years back, it got so hot, the city was invaded by millions of mosquitos.

Hmmm I never thought of that. I would like to know that too. I'm guessing like Aaron said, it has to do with air streams.
