I am aware that he won't be the God people are claiming him to be but considering Mccain won't take troops out, doesn't want universal health care and isn't pro choice Obama is the better option.
From the looks of things too thats what America seems to be thinking as well.
1) Iraq: The U.S. and Iraq are very close to an agreement on troop deployment and reduction. The details leaked so far say that all troops will be out of the cities and redeployed to remote bases (for contingency purposes) by the summer of 2009. All troops would be gone by the end of 2011. This will all be taken care of before Obama or McCain even take office and they will be obligated to follow the plan. It's a reasonable plan and it's based on the needs of the fledgling Iraqi government, not the needs of 2 guys running for office.
2) Universal health care: We're talking about a $2.5 [i]trillion[/] per year expenditure on health care. Either candidate is going to have a difficult time selling an $8,000 per year, per taxpayer medical plan. FYI, it's not as if Americans are left to die if they don't have medical insurance. My daughter spent 12 days in the hospital this summer and racked up $65,000 in bills that she'll never have to pay.
3) Abortion: Political candidates always make a big issue of it, but the fact is that abortion will never be made illegal in this country. There are no real threats to Roe v. Wade, but every candidate loves to use this polarizing issue to his/her advantage.
