Socialism.

And capitalism's working so well at the moment.

Capitalism doesn't whine and moan when people better themselves and, for example, can afford better healthcare or education.

Oh, and capitalism's working pretty well. It's a pity that the Government has interfered to save collapsing businesses.

Socialism.

It was a conservative government that pissed the jet and the computer up the wall.

Unless they're workers wanting to be paid enough to afford such things.

Capitalism allows a minority to kick away the ladder.

It's not neccasairly a choice though. Norway and Sweden are rich as hell and still manage to have social institutions that are enviable.

Frances patriotic socialised capitalist economy is doing rather better than ours at the moment.

I'm not middle aged and I don't chase anything.

We did have one vile kid who was a bully, so we collapsed his tent on him.

Then with all of his victims helping, we gave him the bumps in his tent.

He then popped his head out and cried

"Ya basta'ds I've pissed me sleeping bag,"

That wasn't you by any chance?

Well getting annoyed at people wearing fur, but wearing skin.

Ah I see. I always though leather was a byproduct of the food industry though, whereas animals are killed specifically for their fur. I just have a problem with that, I don't know quite why as I'm a complete carnivore. I think the idea of animals being slaughtered specifically for luxury items is wrong. Unless you're an eskimo or something when fur is a necessity.

Maybe if fur sellers also sold mink and beaver pasties.

Bet they'd taste great.

Socialism.

I thought you knew your history better, Aaron. Labour governments have always embraced technological innovation.

It was the Wilson Government that created the Ministry of Technology under Tony Benn to support innovation in British industry, setting up ICL in an attempt to establish a UK based computer industry and backing ambitious projects such as Concorde. (The Ministry was abolished under the Heath administration.)

The Blair/Brown Government has been obsessed with information technology to the point of absurdity and has also supported genetic technologies.

I would look to the failings of the private sector before blaming government of any description.

Hooray reason to murder people has just over taken reasons to like people!

To be fair, to call the Blair/Brown governments is slightly ridiculous. We haven't had a socialist government in this country since 1979.

Animals being slaughtered for any reason is wrong, period. No one really needs to eat meat in this day and age, but they do because it satisfies their stomach. So it is a luxury item.

That's the second time in as many years I've agreed with you now.

I would assume that they do/would have eaten the meat as well, and made use of every last piece of the animal, not merely the fur.

You are Adolf Hitler and I claim my £5.

I don't buy leather simply because it's not always from an animal killed for meat. I believe that is the only circumstance it's acceptable. Other animals kill for food. I used to be veggie and have so much respect for them and vegans but had to give up for health reasons but I still don't buy a lot of meat and when I do I try my best to buy free range, etc as I don't feel it's right to torture them first. Even a little step helps.

Hitler was not a vegetarian, that's one of the sillier urban myths.

He liked rare Weiner Shnitzle that was seen as a bit of a girly taste in meat.

He aparently liked such degenerate sex acts that every women he was in a relationship with killed themselves.

Well, you earn something new every day.

He still had a dog though. And those are true signs of pure evil.

You know I usually start at genocidal, serial invader of other countries and then work my way down to dog ownership.

Oh and he liked later Chaplin films. The crappy, talky, preachy ones.

That's just crapulent.
