Pensioner's party - the film

This the filmed version of a sketch I put up here the other week.

I'm the one who looks like Tootsie...

Very funny!

:D

I've gotta say I wasn't a fan of this. The scripts predictable and linear.

The performance doesn't telegraph the jokes at all well, it kinda sounds like a couple of people preparing for a party.

If I hadn't read the original it would have been an effort to notice the drug innunendos.

Thank you.

That was the point! I see what you're getting at, but I don't think it would have worked otherwise...

Made me giggle did that. Well done!

Nicely performed. I see where sootyj is coming from on the gags not being emphasised, but oddly enough I think those who are not familiar with the script will pick up on them more easily. I enjoyed the sketch more on a second viewing, which is always a good sign.

:D Thought it was funny and well done. Get the point about delivery, e.g. The two Ronnies' banter had a certain knowing style to it, but felt the "natural" conversational style worked well enough, and the acting itself was very good.

Thank you all for taking a look and your comments.

Had a bit of feedback from people who never saw the written sketch forst and seems it's gone down well and they got it.

Nicely done, Dolly - well done on getting this made.

Script good - performances great - the only weaknesses for me were on the technical side. It's obviously a dialogue-driven sketch and I think your recording equipment let you down. I know what was being said from the script but I'd have missed a couple jokes I'm sure if I hadn't read it.

I'd consider treating this as rehearsal and re-doing it with a decent mic.

Thanks. Know what you mean. We had to shout. It appears I can't fit an external mic to my camcorder. I could just starve the family and buy a new one.... ;)

Agree with David about the mic. Like the sketch though. I never read it to start with (bad me!) and don't think I've missed anything. Well done.

That would be my best recommendation.

Did you buy that joint specifically by the way?

That was dinner. It was rather delicious.

I don't remember seeing the original script on here so I came to this "blind". I thought it was very funny, and nicely performed too. The drug references worked fine for me. Nice work.

I enjoyed it. Feels like there may be a few more jokes to mine, and might be even stronger if you have a guest or two arrive. The payoff line would still go at the end of course....
