Well maybe you'll discover the cure who knows.

I think it must be like when you have an operation and have anaesthetic. It's not like sleep, there are no dreams, suddenly you just don't exist. We can think of it in broad terms, but to think of what actually that means.

You just turn off, So you'd not notice.
Quote: Winterlight @ October 17 2008, 12:15 PM BSTI wasn't getting at that.
Are you sure you HATE yourself, though Aaron?
If you hated yourself you'd just sit at home and rot. You don't though, you go to uni, so you must see some worth in yourself.
Well, I certainly don't like myself. I have no idea why I go to uni. Perhaps to try and improve so I don't hate myself.
But more likely just something to do, to try and earn some money, to buy DVDs so I can sit and rot for the rest of the time.
Quote: Winterlight @ October 17 2008, 12:15 PM BSTDo you ever imagine what it's like to die? I can never quite get my head round it.
A old friend of mine (clinically) died, for about 3 minutes, but was brought round by paramedics.
It sounds ... a bit scary.

Did he have a near death experience?

Sounds like a plan

Yup, sign me up for that one.

She. I don't have many male friends.
And I would have considered it far closer than just "near".

Well technically "actual".
As soon as I posted that I had the feeling it was going to be a she instead.
I wondered if she reported anything like seeing dead relatives, having an out of body experience etc.

Had a friend who died as a toddler (for about 2 minutes), bout aged 4 I think, and she said that all she remembers was floating above her body and seeing her father next to her and seeing herself.
I generally take stuff like that with a pinch of salt, but makes you think...

Yes, like Paul's friend, she remembers looking down on herself, seeing the paramedics trying to bring her round. Going in and out between that and grey nothingness. Empty, grey, nothingness.
Sends a shiver down your spine, doesn't it?
Really? It's quite a common experience, actually. Like most paranormal things people can explain it in all kinds of ways, and the chances of getting any kind of concrete meaning behind it are probably zero!

Change must come from within.
I have a story about swallowing pennies, but it's probably a lot less funny than I think it is. I laugh so much when I'm telling it, that it takes me ages to finish!

Type it for us! Or will you still laugh?
