Scary kids' shows from my childhood

I appreciate a lot of you will be too young to remember these, but check out these creepy kids' shows in the eighties. Bloody sinister! No wonder we grew up warped!

(TRIV FACT: The first one, Chocky, has been optioned for a movie by Steven Spielberg!)

(note the lyric "Yoffy bends over, and a tortoise head peeps out" ) Laughing out loud

Oh my blimey, I'd forgotten all about that big nose guy.

No big surprise that Chocky was a frightening though - it was written by the same guy that wrote Day of the Triffids.

Spielberg is doing a Chocky movie? It will probably be rubbish. I remember the programme being OK but not as good as the book.

anyone else remember Dark Tower?

Spielberg already did Chocky when he did E.T.

I remember Dark Towers, yes. Can't remember if it was that scary though.

However, 'The Boy from Space' used to scare the bejesus out of me. An albino kid running around in a blue jump suit, shouting 'Peep Peep'?

*shivers*

Noseybonk was a big hit with the ladies. The Ugly Wuglies were quite scary, they were in a programme called 'The Enchanted Castle' 1979/80.

I don't remember any of this Chocky shit, but I do vaguely remember Noseybonk.

There was another Look and Read seriel with a sinisiter old man played by Cat Weazel (I think) who pretended to be the kids' friend but was really smuggling peregrine falcon eggs, or something.

I used to shit myself during scooby doo.

Was that because of his long tongue putting thrills through you?

Of course it was.
You should have seen me pulling me skirt up & rubbing against the TV.
I most loved scrappy. His tongue hung to the side. Like a slide it was.

Did you have a Scrappy Doo toy as well then?

That Noseybonk clip is excellent. A couple of years before my time though.

Here's an odd 80s kids show that no one ever remembers:

It's 'Fox Tales' and is narrated by Peter Davison.

Ooh, that rings a bell, that!

I remember it being creepy.
