How do you know that he never said that to me? I know he is being 'objective' when he said it. I'm sorry for losing my temper but he should have known better than to say: 'F**k em spackerville would have been a better title' isn't saying that offensive? It's not as if people with different disabilities don't have access to the website.

How do you know that he never said that to me.

The thread is here as a record that he didn't. And if you are trying to imply that he may have done via PM or e-mail or somesuch, then you should have reported it, not sunk to such a level yourself.

Two wrongs don't make a right, and all that.

Well Matt never sent me an email but he should be told off for saying 'Spackerville' unless you endorse the comment.

I disagree.

Why do you disagree? It's just as offensive as me swearing at him.

No it's not. It's only offensive to people (i.e. you) who choose to find it offensive.

A personal insult, however, is issued with the sole aim of causing offence.

And in any case, no one with a molecule of brainpower would think that he was making a serious suggestion, but merely illustrating his opposing take on the argument you were making.

James, you assuming that all disabled people would find the use of the word 'spacker' offensive is prejudice/prejudging in itself.

The comment is offensive full stop. Go up to someone who is mentally disabled and call him a spacker. Then me if it's offensive by choice.

There are people from all walks of life who have access to this website and making a general statement about 'spackers' is offensive no matter what. You knew what he was driving at, he knew that I would find the term 'spackers' to be offensive even he was 'objective' about it. You knew he had no right to do that and you are defending him for the sake of it.

I will apologize for swearing at him to you guys but I will not apologize to him unless he is prepared to apologize to me for using the term.

I suppose it's alright to say the word n***er on this website too then. Of course it's not but it's alright to take the piss out of people with mental health problems.

You can say "nigger" all you want.

You can say whatever word you like on this forum. Just be clever and don't make it personal. ;)
Nobody took the piss out a person with mental problems. But equally nobody is trying to piss you off either.

Let's just get back to talking about the League of Gentlemen.

I apologize for swearing but you know where I stand on this one.

Aye, we do. :)

Terribly spiffing chaps, what?

It depends what the sitcom would be like, it is also an inaccurate title if the sitcom is what I think it is. They have to make people realize that they referring to psychopaths and not people with schizophrenia, bi-polar etc. The term 'psychotic' is used all the time to describe someone who is psychopathic in films and TV, even really experienced screenwriters make this mistake. It's really an inaccurate phrase.

Never use 'psychotic' to describe someone who is 'psychopathic'.

James, you've made that point about a dozen times now. Unless you have some further information than what was written in the original BBC News article to support it, your suspicions strike me as baseless and quite frankly, paranoid.

Do yourself a favour and drop the subject. Every last f**ker here is well aware of your view on the title now.
