Just joined Facebook. What happens now?

Like I said in the title, I thought I'd do what everyone else is doing for a change, so I've joined Facbook.
Apparently, it's good for networking.

It's a bit shit, isn't it. I mean, the search don't work very well, and the structure of the profile pages are a bit boring.

Still trying to get the hang of the settings.
Why can't I set it to EVERYONE can view my profile?
Apparently only friends and networks can???

Anyway, what do I do now?

Oh, ~edit~ here's my (rather empty) profile page: http://www.facebook.com/people/Mikey_Jackson/1563332856

Go to "Settings" at the top of the page, and then "Privacy settings", and you should be able to control who sees what from there.

Yeah, been there but, the drop boxes don't have "everyone."

Oh *EDIT* I found the bit where evceryone can now search for me.

But the Profile section of Privacy only limits friends and network to view my info.

and ha ha, I went into the Profile bit to look again and this came up:

"Sorry, an error has occurred.
We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can."

I'm trying to figure out why that is, but my settings are on "English (Pirate)" so it's taking a while!

Arrr! That could be it.

OK, thanx 4 your help. :)

I'll be bored of FB by tonight anyway lol :P

AFAIK, my profile is totally open and accessible to every last bugger.

don't come crying to us when you're groomed over the internet again...

How did you do that?

Mine's set to be searchable by everyone, but, with the profile info, only friends or networks can view.
I would go back into Privacy > Profile settings, but it's still waiting to be fixed.

If you're anything like me, what you do now is spend several minutes a day clicking an "Ignore This Request" button.

F**k knows. I joined Facebook a couple of years ago, and haven't ever changed any of those settings. They were probably all open when I signed up. Just have a play around I guess; there's likely to be settings in numerous places.

That and being addicted to telling the entire earth what you're doing.

I thought about joining Facebook but can't really be arsed with it, it seems to be more time consuming than what its worth. Its email with pictures, ffs.

Well, I keep reading that it's good for networking, so I thought I'd try it out. :P

Ha, in the time of writing these posts and trying to sort out my profile, looks like I've made some friends. :P

My networks just fine, actually its a bit stiff at the minute, must have got a chill in it.

:P Sorry for that one.

Oh! And silly me! I will add you. :)
