New series from League of Gentlemen! Page 3

Well it depends if they are using the name psychoville associated with characters with mental health problems or with psychopaths. I hope it's the latter.

The term psychotic just means 'chemical shifting of the brain' and it is misused all the time in films and tv, it is often used to describe someone that is 'psychopathic' which is wrong as a psychopath or someone that is psychopathic is a completely different thing altogether.

I think they should change the name of it as it gives out the wrong impression and makes them look prejudiced and a little stupid.

To you it does; I think most of us would think you're being a bit overly touchy about it.

BTW, a person with mental illness and a psychopath are two different things, psychopath is more to do with personality and the 'kicks' that they get.

Yes it's alright as long as the comedy offends other people.

Look i'm all for sense of humour and taking a joke, i'm not outrightly against the sitcom I just think that they should call it something else because the terms psychotic and psychopathic are two different things.

Yes, I think most people realise that. It's not like they're calling it Spacker Town or anything, using the word psycho seems fine to me.

Remember the TV series 'Psycho' about the psychiatric ward was axed because mental health charities threatened legal action.

Ah, f**k 'em. People are too touchy. And actually, Spacker Town would be an incredible title! :D

Go f**k yourself Matthew Stott.

I'm doing so right now; I've got to say it feels pretty good.

Jesus christ. Calm down everyone.

You can't be annoyed by a title until you know what the show is about. What if it's about a village of psychosomatics?

I didn't even realise we were arguing; until he told me to have sex with myself! :D

This from the person attacking Peter Kay for being difficult to work with. ;)

I never said the reason Peter Kay is a difficult to work with is down to him being angry or pissed off!

It's down to him being a tossing twatbag.

Well yes, there was no need to get personal Mr. James Turner, sir.

Well like I said i'm not outrightly against it, I just think they should change the title, wait and see because it'll be taken off the air with a title like that.

I know Hitchcock did the film 'psycho' but that was years and years ago when people didn't know any better.

I really don't think it'll be taken off air. But we'll just have to wait and see if it causes any complaints.

Well I didn't realize it was an ok thing to say 'let's call it Spackertown' that can get personal. Just because you think it alright to be offensive because there is nobody around you might think be offended doesn't make it right.

Personal, as far as the forum rules go, is directly telling someone to 'go f**k themselves'.
