London will have a chance shortly before the Olympics. The host cities usually bribe/coerce/force the homeless to keep out of sight during their "big moment."

Do you reckon it's too late to give them to Paris?

I'd think the government has more important things to spend its money on these days, so it'd probably be a good idea. ;)

I remember seeing an exhibit like this at a Civil War battlefield museum when I was a kid. Talk about a hailstorm of lead ...

Awesome.

Yeah, I love stuff like that. I think it was at Gettysburg that they had a cross-section of a large oak tree and the interior was filled with lead. When they were building the museum they actually uncovered buried remains and gear and left it in place and built the museum above/around it so you could see the artifacts as they were discovered. It might have been a different battlefield, but it definitely made an impact on my young mind.

I was also impressed by The Crater at Petersburg. A bunch of former coal miners spent weeks tunneling underneath the Confederate lines and packed the tunnel with explosives - BAM!!!

I see that the Confederates still won though!

Won the battle, lost the war. ;)

Ha! Yes, true, true.

There are groups that organize Civil/Revolutionary War artifact hunting tours on private property. I'd like to go on one someday. I like digging old stuff out of the ground. I felt like a proud archaeologist when I'd dig up Indian arrowheads when I was a kid.

This is now my (second) favorite Internet forum. Makes me want to run out and buy a metal detector.

Blimey. The scale of evil's just gone psychedelic.

Ha!

An Indonesian Islamic cleric linked to the three extremists awaiting execution for the Bali bombings said the 2002 attack which killed more than 200 people, including 88 Australians, was the work of the CIA.

Abu Bakar Bashir says the US intelligence agency had fired a nuclear missile at the Bali tourist strip from a ship off the coast.

"It has been mentioned as being a micro-nuclear bomb, not a regular bomb... The bomb was made by the CIA, it could be no one else," he said in his house at the Al-Mukmin Islamic boarding school on Indonesia's Java island.

He said the attack was a conspiracy between "America, Australia and the Jews" and the three convicted bombers - Amrozi, Imam Samudra and Ali Ghufron - had been framed.

Just when my city was starting to get interesting ...

SAN ANTONIO - The Bikini Car Wash on South Flores has closed. Now a business has moved in that claims it's run by a higher power.

The "What Would Jesus Do" Car Wash opened its doors this week. It moved in after the Bikini Car Wash went out of business.
