Awwww. Good luck, Lee!
It's late but it's from far away, if that helps.

Yeah, congratulations, and good luck. I've always thought it would be cool to be part of a writing team, ever since I first saw Larry Sanders. Then, more recently, 30 Rock got me thinking about it again.
Hey Lee - hope you enjoy your day. If anyone can supply the witticisms-on-demand you can. Good luck!

cheers Griff, I'll do me best. If it doesn't work out at least I had a crack at it.

Ditto.
So for anyone interested, I got back late last night - train journey from Hell but that's another story.
I was basically shitting myself for two days before the rehearsals as I've never done anything like a panel show before, but it turned out fine. Everyone was nice and the audiences seemed to respond well to the rehearsals. The writers were banded together in the interim between the first show and the second and thrown some scripts to make notes / come up with jokes for. These were passed on to the producer who sifted through them and handed the panellists / host the best ones. It was all very rushed but this was just a practice run after all. If it goes to series the writers will have material and topics to work with about a week before the show, rather than 20 minutes.
Mightily relieved to report that one of my gags got a good laugh so that was worth the trip. Then after the show we had posh sarnies and a drink at the bar and then I sodded off home. The producer said he'd have everyone present working on the show if it went to series, so that's a potential bit of future work.
So that was that. Thoroughly enjoyed it really. Made some good contacts. Although after the event I was slightly concerned that to the other writers I might've looked like a brown-nosing twat because I was chatting away to the exec producer, but that was only because I've known her for ages. So that's it really. I was worried about nowt. Thanks for all your good luck messages!
Oh and I had a fag and a chat with Lucy Porter who's really nice and completely gorgeous. Phwoar.
Excellent (particularly the Porter bit). Nice one, Lee. Nothing can possibly go wrong for you now.

That must have felt great. Didn't you want to run out infront of the audience and say "I wrote that! That was me!"? I would.
Btw Lucy Porter reads this forum and now she knows you fancy her.

Nooooo!
Well done Lee.

Ummm...I respect her as a comedian and an intelligent lady, and when I say "phwoar" I mean it only in the sense of "phwoar, I really respect her as a comedian and an intelligent lady".
Umm...
yes, I think I salvaged that situation.
She is a babe, though.
Hey well done Lee, just saw this thread. Fingers crossed for the series!
