E4 Radio Sketch comp Page 8

I sent a link and attached a script. I got an email a day or two before they chose the final nine and asked me to re-send the script as they couldn't open it, so I don't have the excuse that they didn't even read or listen to mine!

Maybe because they had so many entries they only looked at or listened to the stuff they thought sounded interesting on the entry form? Don't know how they sifted through so much stuff in less than a week.

I know that in a previous similar comp run by the BBC all the audio entries were listened to by at least 2 judges.

I can image that those that made the effort to send audio versions of their material got priority over those that were sent in script form. At least, that's what I'm hoping.

"Lauren O'Reilly for her sticky sperm sketch The Race"

Eh?

Seems like this whole thing has become redundant, as Channel Four axed all its radio projects today.

Shame. Tip of the iceberg, I'm afraid.

Cool. I know Madeleine Brettingham. She's an ace writer.

Wonder what these budget cuts might mean for Comedy Lab next year?

I think Comedy Labs cost piss all.

There's talk that they might be axing the Funny Cuts, but as far as I know, Comedy Lab will still be going ahead.

Oh, I thought it cost a shitload to make a pilot. Obviously not.

Labs have very limited money put aside.

I heard it on the grapevine that Comedy Labs had a budget of about £80 000 each episode.

That's pretty trifling in the grand scheme of things though.

Too high or too low?

Too high or too low?

Small potatoes.
