GRAMS: THEME TUNE

PRESENTER:
Hello and welcome to Incredibly Lightweight Documentary where for some reason we follow the irritating American format of telling you what's coming up next, then reminding you of what we've just told you and then telling you again in case you forgot. All that coming up after the break.

GRAMS: THEME TUNE

PRESENTER:
Welcome back to Incredibly Lightweight Documentary. Before the break we were telling you what we were going to be telling you so now we're reminding you what we were telling you in case you forgot it during the two and a half minute ad break. Next we're going to tell you what we're going to be telling you after this bit. That's after this break. Don't go away.

GRAMS: THEME TUNE

PRESENTER:
Hello you're back with Incredibly Lightweight Documentary. Before the break we were reminding you of what we've already told you and telling you that we were about to tell you what was coming next, with a reminder of that in case you forgot again. Now we're near the end of the documentary we're going to tell you it all again as it's easier than coming up with more content and allows us to string it out a bit just in case you forgot already. Next we're going to tell you what we're going to be telling you about on next week's documentary which will of course also include a reminder of what we told you this week. Join us then for another Incredibly Lightweight Documentary.

Nice. It's funny cos it's true.

Yep. A good one and very BBC radio.

I think I watched that on Channel Four last night...

Excellent, would work brilliantly on something like Bremner, Bird and Fortune.

Very good. My favourite of yours in fact.

Liked it a lot, had me thinking of The Two Ronnies for some reason. :)

What I admire about this as well is that is just a few sentences put together, no visual stuff or conflict or sound effects, etc.

Cheers everyone. It's odd how it mostly seems to be the ones that take me 5 minutes to write that everyone likes. Perhaps I'm just not funny if I stop to think about it :)

In my experience the good ones right themselves, it is polishing a turd that takes the time.

Very good! Reminds me of Mitchell & Webb also.

Haha! Yes, I have plenty of turds in my sketch collection that need some polishing.

Very true, and so annoying when they do that. Thought it was funny and well written, and a five minutes very well spent.

Given another five, you could do one about those "X documentary show revisited," where they basically repeat the original show, and at the end have 5 minutes of them "catching up." It just seems so lazy.

True, often tried really hard to fit an idea into a sketch and polish it, to see it met with indifference; then something else that came to me almost fully formed, and just made minor tweaks was much better received. Wish I'd identify the bad 'uns quickly and save the effort.

I also liked this very much. Nice one.

I was thinking about a follow-up. That's a good one to add. Cheers.
