This has reminded me of a photo I took of a painting of a Roman scene in Peterborough museum. Wernham Hogg have clearly been around longer than we thought.
My thoughts on Gervais:
The Office: Consistently Excellent throughout. One of the best sitcoms (UK or otherwise) ever. Along with Blackbooks and Peep Show certainly the best of the 00's. Brent was an inspired comic creation, utter genius, but he still wasn't quite on the same plain as these two legends:

or

Extras: Hit 'n miss but always worth watching for the golden moments. One or two moments seemed written to please US audiences which spoilt it for me. The episodes with Hollywood stars were the weaker ones, average or subpar generally, it was much better when the likes of Chegwin, Kemp and Dennis appeared.
His stand-up is ok, nothing really special.
Nevermind Ricky Gervais, whatever happened to Mike Dan-Carter? I wonder if he's still tortured by seeing that girl he went out with once who then lost all interest in him? How come we never get heartwarming stories like that nowadays on the BSG/BCG?

Sod Gervais and even MD-C and his girly conundrum, I wanna know why Romans are drinking from cans?
