Quote: Aaron @ October 8 2008, 1:24 AM BSTWell "Cockney" refers to a specific part of London, so I'd guess that's why then.
I think it was Alan Partidge who said that Cockney was an area of London where criminals lived.

That's more Brixton now...
I stayed in Geordieland for three years.
I met some angry geordies, but there were two in particular were also very stupid.
They used to play a game where they would run into a wall as hard as they could, I dunno what the rules were and how they would decide who won the game.
But newcastle's a cracking place, only a few miles away from Edinburgh but not nearly as dreary.
I'm from Edinburgh, I love the town but it can be dreary there sometimes. People's face tripping them and that.
I always think of thingy in Alan Partridge.
And he isn't even a real one!

I've only been to Edinburgh once, back in June '99, and it snowed!! It only lasted about 20 minutes, but still, it was the middle of Summer.
I think Scotland, Ireland and Wales will be on the itinerary the next time I fly to Europe. I'm a little burned out on London.

Jimmy Nail:
"I've always had dreams, big dreams....BUT I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A REALIST"
Jimmy Nail covering all angles but at the same time...keeping it real.
Jesus Christ.
Also the story about Jimmy Nail going to the interview to Auf Wiedersehen Pet he strolled in said to Ian Le Frenais "If you look at me that way you're going to get a kicking pal" then walking back out.
Yes Jimmy Nail you walked in and told those media types what's what because you didn't want to be seen defying your roots and became a working class hero on the telly.
