Stupid sitcom character names Page 2

"Rick Spleen". "Spleen" generally meaning "bad temper and vitriol". They might as well have called him "Peter Grumpy".

Hyacienth Bucket. Hilarious.

And her son, Sheridan. :D

Ah I see. Thanks.

"Peter Grumpy".

Ha! :D

I'd have preferred that.

I suppose (though to lesser extent) Basil Fawlty is a bit like that. Fawlty - faulty. I suppose it's there. Basil Angry would have been better.

Edmond Sarcastic.

Chandler Quip.

Edmund Blackadder
Baldrick
General/Lord Melchett

Apparently there's a Peter Mond, 4th Baron Melchett which is a good name too. :)

...and of course...

Anthony Aloysius St John Hancock

I used to always think Super Hans was called Super Hands, because he was meant to be a DJ, or a keyboard player.

Similarly, I used to think Otto, from The Simpsons, was called Auto, and had acquired his nickname, because he spent so much time driving.

There was a character in Monkey Island, an old computer game I used to play called "Guybrush Threepwood". Sometimes that name just pops into my head and I can't get it out again, I just walk around repeating it to myself all day like a complete spaz.

You've brought back some delightful memories there, Lee.

The name I can't get out of my head right now is Jan "the lung" Jung, as an associate of mine calls him.

I remember everyone was in awe of the graphics, on that game.
