Ah, I love that. I remember I had to keep pausing the tape because I was laughing too much and missing bits.

I got audience tickets to one episode!
It was alright 'live'.
But I never saw it on TV as it was only ever shown on Sky.
Oo, 'citing!
Is series 1 of Shane available on DVD?
Not as far as I'm aware, no.

(I actually quite liked the first series, although I know I'm in a minority there).
I liked Shane - it was easily as good as After You've Gone and thats been commisssioned for a zillion episodes- guess thats the difference between BBC and ITV- ITV just doesnt give a crap about new comedy.
I remember Baddiel's Syndrome. I was alright. Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned was a good show, too.
Yeah, I loved Unplanned.
I liked the first series, but I get the feeling that Skinner carried it. If anyone else had been in the lead role, then it wouldn't have been so good.
I always remember the episode of Unplanned from 2000 when a naked man ran out of the audience. Made me laugh.
I had tickets to that episode, but we didn't go.
Awww! Unlucky!
When I went to see QI, a naked man ran down from the audience and went and hugged Stephen Fry. It was really rather disturbing indeed.
Quote: catskillz @ October 6 2008, 7:24 PM BSTFrank Skinner's being interviewed on Radio 4 at the moment, and he said ITV have a series of his sitcom, Shane, which they have never shown, because they don't think it's funny enough.
Having seen some of the stuff of his that does get an airing, I'm surprised more of his work doesn't remain "in the can".
Quote: Mark @ October 7 2008, 12:33 AM BSTShane 2 is something that's been intriguing me for ages... I mean how bad must it have been for them to lock it in the archives? And why did they let them make the whole series before deciding... didn't an ITV exec visit the set to check how things were going?
I think it's probably an executive with a grudge. I can't see it being that bad (I actually quite liked the first series, although I know I'm in a minority there).
I think it's probably down to Skinner (and Baddiel) not renewing their ITV contracts when they were offered new ones.
ITV probably thought - f**k him.
Unplanned was terrible. It was stupid, the way they just randomly picked people from the audience, to ask questions. At the very least, they could've got every audience member to write a question on a piece of paper, and chosen the most interesting ones. Instead, they'd often waste what little time they had, talking about the most boring of subjects.
I found pretty funny, whatever subject they ended up talking about.
