Favourite Sitcoms: To Learn a little more! Page 3

Spin City is freaking awesome.

(Or at least it was with Mike. The later series' weren't quite as good, obviously.)

Yeah, I thought Richard Kind was hilarious in that.

Yeah, I used to enjoy Spin City. Definitely stood out from mass of stars with sitcoms.

Yeah, couldn't have got a better actor for the character, I don't think.

Properly splendiforous cast all-round, IMO.

I've never heard of Clone High. Any good?

Clone High ranks in my top 3 cartoons. It's a high school filled with clones of famous people who have since died but they are all in their teens.
For example: Gandhi is now a sex craved kid with ADD.
Cleopatra: is the school slut.
JFK: Is the popular jock.
It's a cruder version of the same kind of humor found in Scrubs 'dream sequences'. It's all very clever yet crude. I love it.
It also had a lot of special guests like Jack Black, Marlene Manson and tons of the Scrubs casts doing voices. Here are a couple of clips from episode 5

Whenever I see Richard Kind, I always think back to one Spin city episode, in which an old school friend of Mike's turned up, out of the blue. When they saw each other, they ran up to each other, and started messing around, wrestling, like they used to when they were kids. Of course, as Richard Kind's character, Paul Lassiter, was meant to be a complete geek, who hadn't had any friends, when he was a kid, he didn't realise they were just messing around, and thought Mike was being attacked, by some strange bloke, and screamed "Security!!"

By the way, have you seen Richard Kind's appearances in Just Shoot Me, and Scrubs? He pretty much plays the same character, but he's still hilarious.

Yeah, and his friend is the navy gay who falls for Carter and that. Yeah, not an excellent episode, but still very funny, and that is a supoib scene.

Must have seen him in Just Shoot Me at some point, but can't recall. Doubt I've seen his Scrubs appearance.

Oh, I forgot I liked Spin City. My favourite character was Alan Ruck's (Stuart?).

By the way, has anyone ever noticed how much Richard Kind looks like Tommy Cooper?

Yes! Me too! Just like me, he can't help but make comments he knows he probably shouldn't. Acetastic. :D

Nope. But you're right, he does!

4. I'm Alan Partridge
5. The Office

with Curb Your Enthusiasm and Phoenix Nights not far behind.

Today, it is :

League of Gentlemen

It may not be quite a sketch show, it's more than that, but I don't think you could really class The League as a sit-com. I don't think of it like that anyway.

I do.

I think it's amazing how Friends could seem so funny, ten years ago, and so unfunny and annoying now.

I still end up watching it a lot, even if only because it's on all the time, and I still always enjoy it. It would be one of my favourites, if we were to expand the number of sit-coms to top ten or twenty.

It's also categorised as a sitcom by the BCG. So that's definitive, as far as I'm concerned. :P
