I think out of the 3 you've highlighted-Coogan,Gervais and Pegg.It is Pegg who has the made the most out of what success he's had. Fairplay to him,but going from a cult indie sitcom on Channel 4(although much loved) to hollywood is a massive step.His friendship with Edgar Wright has no doubt accelerated his career.you only have to look at jessica stevenson who is now turning out in theatres up and down the country the last time i saw to see which way his career could have gone.

Well I don't think it was a straight step. Spaced was 1999-2000 and only the past few years has he been in Hollywood type films.

Also I don't think the fact that Jessica Stevenson is appearing at the Old Vic exactly means her career is on the skids.

You've got a point Griff(I didn't read in particular where she was starring) but in relative terms Jess has been left behind.
