Not everyone!

Best Smiths song 'Reel Around The Fountain'.

"I dreamt about you last night; and I fell out of bed twice" That is a pretty fine couple of lines!

Was it thin or fat era?

Thin, it was only a few years back.

Did you get your free badges? :P

I did indeed; it was his birthday, if I remember rightly.

Twas. I too was there.

'Oh take me to the heaven of your bed/Was something that you never said/Two lumps please/You're the bees'-knees... but so am I' (*imagines Griff singing to Seefacts*)

:D And those were the lines I wanted to write, but had forgotton.

Twas good; the best time, for me, was when I went to see him in Nottingham, in about '99. It was quite a small place, and before his 'comeback' and it was fantastic. He threw his t-shirt into the crowd at the end, and two fans had a rather funny/pathetic little fight over it. Then one said why don't they rip it in two, so they could have a bit each. The other agreed, let go, and the second man ran off at top speed with it; the other just stood there, whilst people pointed and sniggered. Love to see him in a smaller place again. Maybe people could stop buying his albums in such large quantities, so he has no choice.

His last tour he played a few 'smaller' places, 900 - 1000 seaters. Or are we talking smaller?

It's quite sad to think he and Marr will probably never play together again. Just a tour would do, not necessarily new stuff.

Other favourite lines?

From 'Ask' by The Smiths... "Spending warm summer days indoors/Writing frightening verse/To a buck-toothed girl in Luxembourg..."

It was probably about 600-or-so people, I was able to easilly push my way to the front.

I bet Marr would do it too; I think Moz is the only thing stopping it happening; but I like to think it will happen one day. Damn myself for being so young and never having chance to see The Smiths!!

Marr has cooled, yeah. Moz said he'd begrudge helping the former members have careers again. Obviously Rourke and Joyce have done little since the band split. And if they did re-unite Joyce would be nowhere near.

Marr's not done much of any worth in 20 years either. Given he said he was sick of Moz's musical snobbishness almost and how he wouldn't be open to new ideas, Marr hasn't really set the world alight outside of 'Electronic.'

It pisses me off actually to think he ended the best band of all time and subsequently f**ked about in other people's bands rather than doing his own thing. Okay, Boomslang isn't great, but at least it's basically just him.

D'you know he's joined the Cribs now as well? They're putting a full album together. I like The Cribs, so it'll be interesting to see how that turns out.

Well, like The Jam, at least The Smiths went out at the top of their game, I suppose.

"Beware I bear more grudges/Than lonely high court judges/When you sleep I shall creep into your thoughts/Like a bad debt that you can't pay/Take the easy way and give in..." (Is this what goes on in Aaron's mind?)

He's been in loads of bands, it's all very odd. It's like he doesn't want to be the leader.

The The
Electronic
Modest Mouse
The Cribs
Pretenders
Pet Shop Boys

He wrote songs with Electrafixion for their first album.

He obviously hated having to come up with all the musical ideas himself, but that's what he was so good at. His riffs were crafted.

Yeah, and Paul Weller has only written 4 decent songs in 20 years.

Paul Weller is one of the dullest musicians alive. Yeah, The Jam were good, but that was bloody ages ago.

The Style Council were pretty hit and miss too. I saw them live and it wasn't exactly the greatest gig I've seen. Some great songs, yes, but a lot of crap as well.

He has members of Ocean Colour Scene in his band. Enough said, really.
