BSG Initiation Ceremony Page 5

We played some University parties. You could see students trying very, very hard to be.. well, students! Bless their cotton socks! It makes no odds though, does it? My mate was a student and he was OK. They're not ALL twats. :)

University is unbelievably brilliant. Especially in Brighton where the percentage of students is so high. I'm properly moving into my house tomorrow to start my second year, can't wait.

There are too many gays in Brighton. I don't mind a few, but they're out of control over there.

You take it a lot more seriously, especially when you are paying for it out of your own pocket.

We have to pay here.

Parents have to pay! Even with part time jobs, grants and loans and all that are never enough. I have two sons in further education and I am BROKE!
I believe the eldest's initiation was get as drunk as possible then jump up and down under a low beamed ceiling, crack your head open and end up in hospital.' That was the first week. I think week six was when he did the 'run up a wall and see if you can flip over' test. He couldn't - back to hospital, broken foot.

In my experience, relatively few parents actually do.

Sounds like just being a drunken twat to me. ;)

Don't start me on university funding. The whole subject drives me mad.

Oh go on. Enlighten me. ;)

I thought my uni days were great. Most memorable/fun times of my life. As has been said, it's better than working.

Though now I work at a uni: what a bunch of twats students are! Particularly now with the new intake/year just starting. In my f**king way when I'm trying to buy my lunch. Queues everywhere. Asking 'Does this bus go to...' (clearly not as it's pointing the WRONG FUCKING WAY YOU IDIOT!) and trying to pay the fare by cheque whilst we all wait. The traffic's worse. The eating establishments are jammed pack full all the time. I have to deal with all their problems now they're here thinking they're the centre of the entire universe (they're not -- bitter comedy writers are). Emailing the whole effing uni asking if anyone has seen their f**king Mickey Mouse mug they left over in E-Block and, worse than any of that, WE HAVE TO WORK AN EXTRA HALF-HOUR A DAY WHEN THEY'RE HERE!

Bastards, all of them...

Dan

We've got a psychotic admin woman in the law building who shares your attitude to students, Dan. Good on you! Frankly, I hate uni students. Bunch of arseholes. Stressing about their studies or being incessantly "happy". They can f**k off.

During Freshers Week one flat on campus decided to have an underwear party, and one of my housemates stripped to his boxers and tried to do 50 press ups on the grass outside to impress this girl (who to be fair was pretty fit). He then fell backwards off a wall, 5 feet down into a load of bushes (this was after he'd drunk an obscene amount of Jack Daniels). This was just in his boxers remember. It was without a doubt one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

The girl, suprisingly, wasn't interested.

I would have been scared and run away.

I would have been scared and run away.

It was too funny to be scary! He does some stupid things when drunk. On the last day of term before Christmas he tried to vault over a concrete bollard thing in Brighton, but just fell and smashed his face on it. I didn't see it, I just remember him tapping me on the shoulder and seeing blood pour out of his mouth while he said "Can you help me find my tooth?". That wasn't so hilarious at the time. But oh how we laughed afterwards.

Oh God. *grabs face and shudders*
