Prove it, bitch.

OS9 was shite. But there's no resemblance between the current Mac OS and those old machines.
Quote: Seefacts @ October 2 2008, 4:59 PM BST03-05. OS 9 and 10.
Video editing, web design, word processing, usual web stuff.
Hated it.
One would almost think it's personal preference...
F**k that. I invested too much money in my laptop to allow someone else to think their machine is better!
I always thought it came down to how much you knew about computers, the more you know the better Windows seems. I'm as ignorant as anything and like sparkly, pretty things. My Mac is perfect for me.
On topic: Bond is still shit.

Still a twat, then. Excellent.
Quote: Griff @ October 2 2008, 4:52 PM BSTWhat is a proper *nix? Linux? It doesn't even end in "nix".
No, not Linux necessarily. Darwin doesn't end in "nix" either. As for proper... Hm. I'm not sure how I'd define it. I just know that, from what I've seen, whilst OSX may be based on a *nix platform core, it's ... I don't know. Not. Anyway.
Quote: Griff @ October 2 2008, 4:52 PM BSTI had a good laugh in my last day of work. One of the Linux guys was lecturing me about how the "dependency hell" of Linux was a thing of the past, and it was supposedly a piece of piss to install software on Linux now. "You can install anything in three clicks". And then he needed to install something. It still wasn't installed and working by the end of the afternoon.
I've seen that too. Really quite amusing.

Exactly.
I chose PCs. I find them simple, reliable and mine has never given me any trouble.

You said it, mate.
I always thought it came down to how much you knew about computers, the more you know the better Windows seems.
Well possibly, but I have a degree in electronic engineering and computing and I've worked in IT for 20 years (queue this way, ladies!), and I choose Mac every time. So I'm not saying "I'm right because I know loads", but I'm certainly an exception to your rule. There are lots of scarily well-informed people in both the Windows and Mac camps. In fact, thinking about it, the people I work with who genuinely do know loads tend to be Linux geeks nowadays. I don't use Linux because I can't be arsed. But the people who love nothing more than f**king about with computers, well, Linux is a dream come true for them.
Aah yes, well I don't count Linux users. They tend to creep me out.
I agree, he is shit.
James Bond is great when you're 12, but then you grow up. The last one I saw was Moonraker, I think, so that was a LONG TIME AGO.
I've only seen the recent ones... and they make me cringe.
Casino Royale was great, but the last Brosnan one was poor.
Sean Connery's ones are mostly good and I loved the Roger Moore ones when I was growing up, but they're are largely embarrasing now.
Quote: Seefacts @ October 2 2008, 4:32 PM BSTThe Live And Let Die script was written by Roald Dahl, of course.
That along with From Russia with Love was really the bollox.
And one of the few really ace Moore films.
True Lies anyone?
I liked it.
I've loved the Bond films since I was a child. I'm not so keen on the Roger Moore ones (in a couple he looks too old and the girls look too young. Really not right.) But I agree on Her Majesty's Secret Service (with Lazenby*) was a good film. I also liked Dalton (though that might be helped by the fact that I was told I looked like the girl in Living Daylights) but thought he was let down by the scripts.
I think Daniel Craig is doing a great job - always thought he was a top actor but wasn't sure he was right for Bond - but was proved wrong.
I'd love to write a screenplay for a Bond film, but I expect there'd be too many killings - especially of the more torturous sort.
*once saw a Aussie stand-up doing a whole routine about the difference between poms and aussies and used Bond as an example, and had a whole punchline based around "imagine if Bond was played by an aussie!" I just wanted to shout out "George Lazenby!"...
