In the same way blokes get strange looks for declaring they don't like football, I get the same for saying I hate James Bond.
It seems that most men grow up dreaming of being James Bond. He is the ultimate superhero, an aspirational figure, the epitome of a man's man.
I don't. I've never sat through a whole Bond film. I think James Bond is a tosser.
I liked the first few films, Goldfinger and I liked the newest version.
I really didn't like any of the other films.

The hard as nails Sean Connery in the holy trinity? Dr No, From Russia with Love, You only Live Twice?
Or funny campy Roger Moore, the Worther's original of super spies.
Maybe the deeply strange and quite sad novels or Daniel Craig neolithic man squeezed into a dinner suit?
Bond is such a wide ranging thing.
Except Dalton, he's a monky faced arse blister who can sod off to the Hallmark channel and die there.

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I agree with Seefacts. I thought Dalton was much under-rated as Bond. His first film particularly was great.
However I don't really think James Bond is all that. I enjoy the films as a bit of escapism when I see them, but I could live without ever seeing another one. I didn't bother going to see the Daniel Craig one.
I keep meaning to read the Fleming books as a lot of people whose judgement I trust rate them highly.

Daniel Craig is not only brooding and a fine actor.
He actually looks like he'd throw poo at Blofeld, dry hump Oddjob and eat the steaming brains of Max Largo.
I am largely nonplussed by Bond.
I saw Russia With Love a few weeks ago. Well, I tried to see it. F**king awful.
